Welcome to ARC! My name is Jack, and I’m a Registered Social Worker (RSW) with a Master of Social Work (MSW) from Dalhousie University and a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from the City University of Hong Kong. I have years of clinical experience supporting diverse populations in British Columbia, Nova Scotia, and Hong Kong, addressing mental health challenges, family dynamics, financial crisis, and life transitioning.
In addition to my work at ARC, I serve as a medical social worker helping individuals and their caregivers adapt to life with disabilities. My goal is to help you break free from what’s holding you back and move toward a more fulfilling life.
I was born and raised in Hong Kong, where I grew up in a low-income family. Like many, I’ve faced my share of insecurities—poverty, relationship struggles, stress, chronic illness, and emotional well-being. I have a deep understanding of what it feels like to be stuck in a loop you desperately want to escape. With time and support, I’ve had the privilege of unpacking my own story, which has shaped my passion for helping others remove barriers and embrace their full identities.
My counselling style is highly empathetic and approachable, but at the same time active, practical, and goal-oriented, tailoring our sessions to your unique inner experience. Together, we’ll work to understand your emotions and use them as a foundation for meaningful change in your life and relationships. I’m committed to creating a safe, non-pathologizing environment where your needs, readiness, and autonomy are respected.
My approach is rooted in humanistic, experiential, attachment-based, person-centered, and trauma-informed practices. I specialize in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) as my primary treatment model, while also incorporating elements of Narrative Therapy and Bowen Theory. Simply put, I see you as a whole person with strengths and autonomy, and I work with you to co-create transformative in-session experiences that lead to positive change.
I support people with issues of:
- Anxiety
- Depression & low mood
- Trauma & Adverse Childhood Experiences
- Anger management
- Stress management
- Self-esteem
- Grief & loss
- Parenting
- Relationship challenges
Languages: English, Cantonese, Mandarin
When I’m not in the office, you’ll often find me photographing. I enjoy exploring the city or immersing myself in nature, capturing the beauty of life through my lens. I see every pixel in my frame as a gift and a reminder of life’s resilience.
Life can feel overwhelming at times, and it’s in those moments that being truly seen and heard matters most. You’ve taken an important step, and I’m here to support you. I look forward to connecting with you and walking alongside you on this journey.
Please note that Jack is currently on leave and returning mid-February. If you require support before then please click HERE to return to our Therapists page, or send us a General Consultation Request and we will connect you with someone else.
