Tianna Bobariu, MEd

Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC)

Welcome to ARC! My name is Tianna and I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology (MEd) from the University of Lethbridge, and a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology and Sociology from Simon Fraser University.

Since I can remember, I have been passionate about supporting others. Long before my career as a counsellor, I had the opportunity to offer my support in a variety of fields, including as a swim instructor, a lifeguard, a support worker, and a crisis responder. These roles reaffirmed my desire to help others and led me to the counselling field.

Having attended counselling during my adolescence and throughout my adulthood, I have personally experienced the relief that counselling can provide. Continuing to attend counselling sessions on a regular basis is an important part of my own ethical counselling practice. My counselling background has given me a holistic understanding of the therapeutic process from both the counsellor and client perspectives. As a result, I prioritize building a safe and affirming relationship to help you feel comfortable in the counselling space.

My areas of practice include:

  • Anxiety
  • Depression
  • Trauma
  • Stress management
  • Relationship difficulties
  • Self-esteem
  • Grief and loss
  • Life transitions
  • Personal growth

My counselling orientation is mainly guided by person-centred therapy, feminist therapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy. In practice, this means that I value creating a collaborative and empowering counselling space that considers the personal, interpersonal, and societal factors that may be impacting your everyday experiences and well-being.

I also believe in tailoring counselling to best fit your needs. For this reason, I draw on mindfulness and solution focused therapy as well, and always work from a trauma-informed and culturally-informed perspective. I believe that you are the expert of your own lived experiences, and I am here to offer you support in achieving your therapeutic goals.

Outside of work, I find it recharging to spend my free time with my family and friends. Having grown up in the Lower Mainland, I also feel deeply grounded when I am surrounded by nature, especially near trees or around water.

If you are interested in working with me, I invite you to reach out using the form below so together we can discuss a counselling path that feels best for you. I look forward to hearing from you.
