Welcome to ARC! My name is Eva and I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BCACC. I hold a Master of Counselling Psychology (MA) from Yorkville University and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from The University of Tulsa in Oklahoma, where I competed in university athletics for four years.
I believe that meaningful therapy begins with feeling safe, understood, and genuinely connected. I take a relational approach to therapy and view the therapeutic relationship as the foundation for growth and healing. My approach is grounded in compassion and authenticity, creating a space where you can slow down and explore your experiences without judgment.
As a client-centred therapist, I meet you where you are. Together, we’ll work at a pace that feels right for you, guided by your unique goals and needs. Rather than focusing on what’s “wrong,” I believe therapy offers an opportunity to deepen your understanding of yourself, strengthen your connection to who you are, and create meaningful change that feels authentic and lasting.
My hope is that our work together fosters greater self-awareness and self-compassion, allowing you to move through life’s challenges with more clarity and trust in yourself. Whether you’re processing difficult experiences, working through longstanding patterns, or simply feeling stuck, I strive to create a space where every part of you feels welcome.
Using an Emotion-Focused lens, I am particularly interested in the emotions we experience and the messages they carry. Rather than viewing difficult emotions as something to overcome or avoid, I see them as valuable sources of information that can deepen our understanding of ourselves, our relationships, and our needs. Together, we’ll gently explore these emotions with curiosity, uncovering the stories they may be telling and the needs they may be expressing.
As well as Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT), I draw from a variety of models depending on your goals and what resonates most with you. With a trauma-informed approach, I incorporate Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Narrative Therapy, Attachment Theory, Strengths-Based approaches, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gottman Method and more. Above all, I aim to model compassion throughout our work together, creating space for self-understanding to replace self-criticism and for self-acceptance to grow.
I support individuals experiencing a variety of concerns, including:
- Anxiety
- Critical self-talk and perfectionism
- Depression
- Grief and loss
- Life transitions
- Relationship concerns
- Self-esteem and self-worth
- Self-image and disordered eating
- Anger and stress management
- Emotional regulation
- Personal growth and self-discovery
I also work with couples looking to strengthen their relationship, better understand recurring patterns, and navigate challenges together.
Having moved to the West Coast four years ago, I’ve come to appreciate how restorative time in nature can be. Whether I’m out for a run, practicing yoga, exploring new trails, or spending time with friends, being outdoors helps me reconnect with myself and find balance.
Before settling in Vancouver, I spent a year and a half travelling and living abroad on my own. That experience deepened my appreciation for the uncertainty and growth that often accompany life’s transitions. Because of this, I feel especially connected to clients who are navigating change, exploring their sense of identity, or learning to build a more compassionate relationship with themselves.
If you’d like to explore whether we might be a good fit, please feel free to reach out using the form below. I look forward to connecting soon.
