Welcome to ARC! My name is Jess and I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in good standing with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). I hold a Masters in Counselling Psychology (MCP) from Adler University and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) from Simon Fraser University.

Originally from the Gulf Islands, I grew up in a small community that allowed me to recognize the value of connection to others, self, and nature, as a pathway to healing. I love travelling, taking photos, and spending time in the forest, mountains and beaches, with my dog and my husband.

As a therapist, I have had the privilege of working with individuals from all walks of life, through different transitions, traumas, and transformations. I have learned that each of us has a unique story to tell, and that this story is often shaped by our relationships to others, the world, and ourselves. My goal is to provide a safe and non-judgemental space for you to feel comfortable in sharing your story with me at a pace that feels right for you.

I also believe that the body holds stories that are important to uncover during the healing process, and I often integrate a somatic approach in order to tap into this knowledge to work towards regulating and releasing old wounds, unprocessed emotions and past traumas.

Although I work mostly from a Person-Centered, Narrative and Somatic approach, I often integrate other therapeutic modalities (such as Solution-Focused Therapy and Adlerian Therapy) to meet your individual therapeutic needs, as I recognize everyone is unique.

Issues I am experienced in working with include:

  • Anxiety, Stress, and Panic
  • Depression
  • Trauma
  • Grief and Loss
  • Self-Esteem Issues
  • Relationship Issues
  • Life Transitions

Additionally, I enjoy working with couples to help untangle negative patterns in relationships in order to engage in healthier communication and behaviours. Couples can often get stuck in the same cycles—it can be helpful to have an unbiased, third person to deconstruct these cycles, deepen emotional experience, and create new awareness and opportunities to more fully engage with each other. I work with couples using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and the Gottman Method.

If you have any questions or would like to work with me, I can be reached via the form below. I look forward to hearing your story, and to helping you with your journey towards healing and growth.
