Welcome to ARC! I’m Veronica, Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) in good standing with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC). I hold a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology (MCP) from Adler University, and a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Psychology from McGill University in Montreal.
I was born and raised in Victoria, BC, but I have called Vancouver home for the past few years. I grew up in a multicultural environment where I learned to understand individual diversity and its impact on our identities. I value community, creativity, and healing through connection. As a therapist, I am dedicated to appreciating individual differences, creating collaborative relationships, and supporting you in your pursuit of the life you want to live.
In my past experiences, I have worked directly with individuals experiencing a range of diverse issues, including: anxiety, depression, trauma, stress, relationships, and sexuality-based issues. Most commonly, I witnessed many of those individuals experiencing pain and suffering alone. This confirmed for me how important a trusting, non-judgmental, and therapeutic relationship is for the healing process. Starting therapy can sometimes feel scary and challenging, but it can also be insightful and relieving. I am committed to creating a safe, respectful, and compassionate space to allow you to feel comfortable being your full self.
The specific therapeutic approaches and interventions I use are flexible and tailored to each of your unique needs and goals. I primarily draw from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Mindfulness-based approaches to work with you in tackling the challenges you are facing.
My training and experience allows me to support you with issues related to:
- Anxiety and Panic
- Gender Exploration
- Multicultural issues
- Sexual Issues and/or Concerns
- Sexual Orientation
In my spare time I enjoy hiking, reading, travelling, attending comedy or music events, and spending time with family and friends.
If you have any questions or would like to start your therapeutic journey with me, I invite you to email me using the form below (firstname.lastname@example.org).
I look forward to meeting and working with you.
